Great Podcasts for Kids of All Ages

As screen time concerns are on the rise, many parents are turning to podcasts as a fun (and often educational) way to engage kids -- without the screen. But as children's audio content has flooded the airwaves, it can be a challenge to find the good stuff that's also appropriate. Luckily we've discovered some excellent kid-friendly podcasts that you and your family will love listening to. If you're not super familiar with how to "do" podcasts, check out this guide which has everything you need to get started, including a list of podcast players.

Each episode features 2 historical stories that have similarities with each other.

The Unexplainable Disappearance of Mars Patel is a scripted podcast for middle grade kids, performed by middle grade kids. It is a fun, high-quality, serial mystery that can be described as Goonies meets Spy Kids meets Stranger Things for 8-12 year olds. It was voted as one of the top 50 podcasts of 2016 by The Guardian, and was recently honored as a Peabody award winner.

Saturday Morning Theatre
​Fashioned in the vein of old-time radio broadcasts, the series gives listeners short imaginative adventures featuring superhero tales, westerns, and mysteries. With new episodes appearing about one to three times a month, their catalog runs back to 2013. That’s a lot of Saturdays covered.
